The Engagement Index measures the performance, relationship strength and outcome of engagement tactics as seen through the eyes of associations’ customers and members. The 2016 edition of the Global Engagement Index (GEI) specifically targeted the global community (customers and members based outside of the USA) of associations headquartered in the USA. More than 130,000 non-US members and customers from around the world have been consulted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Arabic and Simplified Chinese. The 2016 GEI provides associations with a valuable benchmark which illustrates how the global community perceives associations' value, performance and engagement efforts and an in depth analysis of what is driving relationship strength and engagement.
The results of the 2016 Global Engagement Index (GEI), revealing relationship strength and engagement effectiveness, were unveiled at the Global Engagement Summit, held in Washington, D.C. in June. Summit participants enjoyed peer-to-peer discussions around the Index findings which highlighted what actions associations need to take to better engage with and provide value to members and customers across the world. GEI data and association case studies were shared around topics such as: the value and effectiveness of certification for global audiences; the impact of local, in-market delivery of training and education; the importance of employer engagement and availability of financial support; the five-step path to segmented and effective engagement; how to engage members who are passive and detractors whilst continuing to pay their dues; the power of word of mount recommendation and effective local social media tactics; and more...
